The Mossy Carpet at Torre Abbey, Torquay
An enchanting outdoor performance & workshop for children ages 4+ and their families.
Step into the magical world of The Mossy Carpet, where a curious boy named Jay and his wise Grandma journey through an enchanted garden, meeting minuscule creatures and taking on the mighty Carbon Giant. Together, they discover how small actions can protect a delicate ecosystem, and how everyone has a part to play in caring for our planet.
This imaginative, eco-themed show is a joyful, sensory experience combining storytelling, dance and nature, specially created for children aged 4 and up.
Your ticket includes:
Entry to the performance of The Mossy Carpet
A hands-on Pom Pom making workshop where you’ll create your own piece to add to the ever-growing mossy carpet used in the show
Access to Torre Abbey, including its historic grounds and gardens
Event duration: 1hr 30 minutes (30 min performance into 1 hr workshop with breaks built in)
Location: Torre Abbey Learning Lab & Gardens
Join us for a story of nature, nurture, and the little things we can all do to help the Earth grow greener. Performance and production by Far Flung CIC, produced by Doorstep Arts CIC.

Join us for a performance of The Mossy Story on The Mossy Carpet.
A creative uplifting accessible performance by Far Flung CIC’s performers with a community crafted opportunity to slow down, connect and adopt actions for a brighter greener future.
You can take a celebratory stroll along The Mossy Carpet and make your own moss inspired woolly pompoms to add to the artwork.
The event is ticketed but free of charge.
Please wear socks if you’d like to walk on The Mossy Carpet.

Part of Summer in the Scene Dock* - a programme of outdoor events at Theatre Royal Plymouth this August.
The Scene Dock will be transformed into a welcoming hub of entertainment and community.
