Our Solar Door

Art and Energy have created and co-created a whole range of solar artworks. We continue to take this creative practice forward whilst learning new techniques and skills to help us improve our work.

Back in March 2020, staff and students at the University of Exeter learnt how to solder and connect solar cells and co-created our solar door with the support and guidance of the Art and Energy team. In direct sunshine, this creative solar artwork can charge a mobile phone.

The project was in collaboration with Arts and Culture at the University of Exeter, whilst creating we considered ways to combine art and energy and what that might mean for the future. Watch our solar door film below.
