Creative Energy Day with Plymouth’s Clean Streets project
The Art and Energy Collective recently hosted a Creative Energy Day for Plymouth area residents in partnership with the Clean Streets Electric Vehicle charging project.
The sun shone and the view from our venue on Plymouth Hoe certainly banished any Monday morning blues!
The day started with an energy walk to view some of the pop-up charge points already installed in central Plymouth - two participants had their electric car so we stopped to see how the charger and the Urban Electric app worked. Along the way we talked about the history of energy in the city, we looked for signs of energy use & efficiency and thought about our own energy too.
We returned for a short presentation about the work of Art and Energy and to discuss about how we can work together to inspire positive actions in light of the climate emergency.
Creativity was key to our afternoon, we tasked participants with creating a collage poster board showcasing different elements of energy - transport, nature, built environment and encouraging behaviour change in our energy use. We will use these creative thoughts to feed in to the next stage of our Clean Streets project.

Art and Energy’s work on the Clean Streets project is set to continue, each set of these pop-up electric vehicle chargers has a feeder plinth box to house the electrical cables. Our task will be to create (and co-create) engaging sticker artworks for these boxes.
