Celebrating Green Week at the University of Exeter

Art and Energy recently spent the day at the University of Exeter to run a worshop for their Go Green Week 2023. Go Green Week is a great initiative to get University of Exeter students and staff thinking about sustainability and encourages them to take positive actions in their own lives.

Art and Energy set up a How to Bury the Giant display with various activity stations to encourage interaction with staff and students alike. Our drop in event allowed everyone to get their creative energy flowing and consider what actions they will take for a brighter greener future.

Throughout the day, our display allowed participants to journey into wild moss forests, seeking inspiration and tools that will help us to BURY the GIANT. We asked participants to:

  • Foster a moss to help restore some moorland,

  • Help us to make a giant moss inspired carpet from wool,

  • Share how you are taking positive action and inspire others to reduce carbon emissions,

  • Join our community of people who want to use their creativity to respond to the climate emergency through our Bury the Giant Club.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day for this fabulous event.

Here’s just some of the pledges we received on the day to add to our blazing sun sculpture in the centre of our Moths to a Flame geodesic dome:
