British Science Festival with the Diocese of Exeter
Art and Energy recently partnered with the Diocese of Exeter to deliver The Mossy Carpet workshops as part of British Science Festival 2023.
On Friday 8th September we hosted three workshops at the Old Deanery, The Cloisters in central Exeter. An invitation was sent out to churches across Devon encouraging them to join us at one of three free creative sessions. We aimed to provide a space to reflect, share ideas and inspire church communities to take more action for our planet.
The workshops featured our moss station for participants to look more closely at mosses and everyone took part making moss inspired woolly pompoms and textile tufts to add to The Mossy Carpet.
Art and Energy’s Chloe and Naomi really enjoyed delivering these workshops, the Old Deanery venue offers access to a beautiful garden offering a peaceful space for meeting others, talking and reflecting.
We were joined by representatives from 15 churches across Exeter and the wider Devon area, our messages from the day were taken back to their wider congregations. Art and Energy have kept in touch with many of those who joined us and we’ve received several extra deliveries of mossy pompoms made at creative events organised by the churches for their local community.
