Art and Energy donates Moth Traps to Exeter & Plymouth Library of Things
Following the surge of interest in moths that we saw during the Moths to a Flame project, we wanted to make it affordable and easy for people to continue to enjoy and watch moths. We’ve donated a 12v battery powered moth trap to both Exeter Library of Things and Plymouth’s Borrow don’t Buy.
You can hire the moth trap for use at home in your own garden or with a community group or a school.
These fantastic local loaning libraries are well worth check out as a simple step to reduce your carbon footprint, avoid a cluttered home, save money and share resources within your community. They stock all sorts of items, from DIY tools to party supplies, tech gadgets to camping gear!
Over the last two years we’ve fallen in love with moths! Vital night time pollinators, easily overlooked yet stunning at a closer look, inspiration to many creatives, and also an important indicator species! Why not borrow a trap, record your sightings and report them to your county moth recorder (National Moth Recording Scheme). Records of species and numbers are an important way to measure the health of eco-systems, building evidence for action to alleviate climate change.
