A celebration of the Eco Church Award Scheme in the Diocese of Exeter
You are warmly invited to an afternoon event celebrating the Eco Church scheme in Devon. Dave Bookless from A Rocha will be sharing a message, and we will hear inspiring stories from churches around the diocese. Come along and be inspired to take action in your parish and mission community.
The Right Reverend Bishop Jackie acting Bishop of Exeter will be honouring new Eco Churches at every level by presenting churches with their awards during the afternoon. In a fun twist on ‘rolling out the red carpet’ we will have the stunning Mossy Carpet for award achievers to walk along whilst contemplating how tiny mosses can have a big impact – a worthy reminder for us all!
There will be an eco update from the diocese as well as a variety of displays and stalls from environmental organisations working across the Devon. Come along and be refreshed and resourced in your journey to a more environmentally friendly church.
Could your church achieve an Eco Church award?
We are encouraging every church to sign up to the Eco Church scheme. Registering and adding your church is quick and easy and you will notice on filling out the survey how achievable many of the questions are. You may already be doing more than you realise.
We would love as many churches as possible to be honoured at this event. There is still enough time to register and achieve an award, or for bronze/silver churches to make the push for the next level before April - don’t delay, take action today!!
Delegates are very welcome to stay on for Evensong at the Cathedral focussed on caring for creation led by Reverend Canon Cate Edmonds from 4pm.
