The Mossy Carpet at Castle Drogo, National Trust

  • Castle Drogo Castle Drogo Newton Abbot, England, TQ13 9JQ United Kingdom (map)

Thousands of individually made pom-poms and textile tufts adorn fleecy felt from Dartmoor, creating a vibrant beautiful mossy carpet. Each moss-like pompom celebrates someone’s small attempt to make the world better for all of life.

The Castle Drogo team will be helping make a section of the Mossy carpet from Saturday 8 to Sunday 16 June as part of Great Big Green Week. The activity hut will be open on these days (11am-3pm) for visitors to come and add their own moss creations (wool is supplied but donations would be more than welcome). This is a free drop in event for anyone who wishes to be part of a creative conversation for the planet.
